Staying Ahead of the Curve: Future Proofing Human Services in Ontario

May 30, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Deadline for submissions: Monday, March 6, 2017

Please submit forms electronically to OMSSA at

The 2017 Leadership Symposium will bring together over 250 service managers, provincial staff and community organizations from across Ontario to work together to ‘stay ahead of the curve’ during the transformation and modernization of service delivery in all sectors.

Successful service managers and their community partners are able to anticipate, manage and operationalize change. This conference is designed to ‘future-proof’ your organization by stimulating forward thinking and giving participants tools and resources to be able to better anticipate and manage upcoming changes.

Participants will engage with and learn from colleagues, peers, industry voices and experts to better prepare for undefined futures in human services. We will ask ourselves “what will happen if we don’t….?” and “how can we ensure we do….?” We will work together to frame and co-create the answers.

We are seeking proposals for plenary and breakout sessions from OMSSA members, their community partners, provincial and federal government and other human service organizations in Ontario, across Canada and internationally.

Submit your engaging proposal; excite conference delegates with details of your organization’s programs, initiatives or ground-breaking ideas. Showcase your innovative community partnerships, creative use of funds, space, people and other resources to best serve those in your community.

Sessions should be designed to be interactive, provide ample time for dialogue, audience questions and the exchange of ideas. Supplemental materials can be sent to OMSSA before the Leadership Symposium and distributed to conference delegates for review in advance of sessions.
