Parent Resources EarlyON Child and Family Centre

Parent Resources EarlyON Child and Family Centre exists to promote healthy child development and improve child and family wellbeing in their safe and welcoming spaces at 1117 Gerrard St E. in East Toronto.

In addition to providing opportunities for children from birth to 6 years of age to participate in play and inquiry-based programs, the Parent Resources EarlyON also has a strong focus on enhancing community connectedness and belonging for children, parents, and caregivers.

They do this by offering parents and caregivers supportive conditions and tangible resources to reduce isolation and encourage growth, learning, and long-term success. They also offer support to parents and caregivers in their roles through counselling, workshops, and outreach.

The centre keeps a full events calendar to engage their families and create a strong sense of community. They regularly host events such as an afternoon book club, trips to the fire station, field trips to the High Park cherry blossoms, and nutrition talks and food experiences with a Dietitian.

Rose-Marie Montinat, the Executive Director, supports her staff in making families feel as welcome and included as possible. This includes encouraging staff to learn and communicate in different languages to make their families feel at home. Parent Resources EarlyON is a place that is dedicated to creating a safe and happy space for families to have community. This centre is not merely here to make life easier for families but to be a part of their families’ lives.

When you speak to families in the community, they are in love with the place. Old and new families feel the centre is a second home with open spaces to have snacks, meet other families, and play with their children.
